WELCOME TO MY STUDIO
I am Emile Verheule.
For an amber glass portrait, the kiln is heated overnight. The heat fuses the silver with the glass. The thin layer of color allows for a powerful, two-tone engraving.

Your photo is first edited into a design, making it suitable for engraving on the glass. The engraving consists of small sandblasted areas. From a distance of about 1 meter, a smooth image emerges with a surprising amount of detail (e.g., hair, wrinkles, etc.).
I edit the photo on the computer into a 'dot image', the design that you receive in advance.
